    red flag Server Crash - How do I get site back up and running???

    Yes my sever HD just was about to crash. so they backed up the DB and the files and put me on to a new SERVER.. (so i didn't loose any files or DB)

    now when i go to my page it askes me to put in the Install files..

    How do i proceeed indoing this .... as its not a new setup the site has been up and running for a long time.. but after the HD crash.. this is what comes up after the Site Backup...

    As i have all the files in there same spot.. and the DB has the same DB name and pword..

    Any help would be nice..

    Thanks

    Your configure files include the absolute path from your server's root to your site and its cache folder. I wonder whether that the path on your new server may be very slightly different to that on your old folder and would double check this first.

    I'm sure there's a better way, but here's a (hopefully) foolproof one ...

    Create a file called path.php with the following contents
    PHP Code:
    <?php

    echo $_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'];
    ?>
    Put it in your store's root folder and then run it via a browser.
    It will give you the full path on the server to the file, so removing the filename will give you the answer you need for your configure files.
