gilby,
probably you are right. I was not able to find such add on.
I'm also searching for such functionality

I need exactly the same (kits). Any updates on this?
I found this online last night. http://www.flipsideservices.com/zens...&products_id=5
Very pricey but I am seriously considering it.

If their demo is any indication, I would do a Forest Gump and run!
Their demo is a Home Theatre System. The first optional item (the display) is where it starts going south. You'll note that most folks will simply say yes or no to whether or not they want the display. Changing any of the yes or no options doesn't have any effect on the price of the item.
And the display actually won't work until you select the warranty which is gonna confuse folks.
The options on the Bluray/DVD Player don't mention the cost until AFTER you have selected one or the other.
Lastly, there are several here who could create this same result using Zen Cart out of the box.
Take a look at what we did for one client here.

Strange - the demo was working last night but now you can't even select a BlueRay/DVD Player.
Sure, I can add lots of "Priced by Attribute" OPTIONS. But I can't combine separate Products that might be taxable or not....like Government Fees and other types of non-taxable disbursements...rebuilt engine cores, etc.

I need help for this too, any good ideas ???
Firstly I'm no Zencart guru, just a newbie but I would do it this way.
Example to make 10 kits
1) reduce each of the individual items for your kit by 10
2) make a "kit" product and have the number of kits in stok as 10
Makes sense to me, hopefully someone out there can back it up.
