The CA sales tax for in-state customers has always been off by a few cents to as much as 1/2 too little charged. Never found out why.

Now I have noticed a problem which I tested many different ways and found with great confidence that the problem arises when a customer in CA (sales tax applies) adds Free Items to the purchase and enters a coupon code. Link to free items page.

These are the numbers that result on the order.

Item $348
Coupon -174
Total $137.48

Math doesn't work and no Sales Tax is charged or shown.

You can go to site (URL shown above) and try this using a California address, put a purchase in cart, add free item(s) to cart and use coupon code LAYAWAY. The combination of these 3 things causes the problem. (Sales tax, Free add-ons, and Coupon)

We don't do a lot of California transactions and coupons are usually smaller amounts so haven't noticed this before. Please help by letting me know that this is a bug in Zencart.

Thanks,
Nancy
