Default Trouble w/ customer sending Gift Certificate

    Logged in as test user...

I can purchase a Gift Certificate and it seems to work fine. The amount shows correct in my shopping cart and I can even redeem it while making a new purchase.

When I attempt to email some of that gift certificate balance to a friend (from the customer account page) it shows this error...

    Followup:

This started working correctly when I switched from a shared ssl to a private ssl. A few other minor issues with the store were also cleared up with the new certificate. Go figure.

Thanks for posting the solution that worked for you ...

However, it sounds like there was a problem with your shared secure that the private secure coincidentally fixed ...

Some of the problem may have been with the domain configuration itself. I was forced to make a change there as well.

You see, my store was on an add-on domain. At first I didn't think that would be a problem. Well, we live and learn...

When I purchased my ssl certificate, I had a rude awakening. First I tried to install it myself and had problems. When I asked my host for help they told me they could not install it on an add-on domain. But they could, however, switch my store domain to be the primary.

I spent the next few days re-installing six different websites and reconfiguring several email accounts, all on that hosting account.

It was sort of a blessing in disguise because I like it better this way. All my sites are better organized now and I cleaned out the sludge.

Anyway, I think everything in my store works correctly now. ...well, except for one poorly written module, but we won't go there.
