copying products over to a new site problems

hello,

i have an new site and i want to copy my products over from my old site.

I cant install any mods etc on my old site as it has a limited admin modifict######## installed and i dont have FTP or phpmyadmin access.

I do have the httpdocs and a sql database in a backup

ive tried creating a new zencart install and then inserting the database over it then changing the config.php files but something always seems to go wrong. either my products dont show up or they do but not in any catagories.

What tables from the database do i need to copy over to my new database to copy my products over?

Im not to bothered about attributes as i can quickly re-add these. its mainly the products descriptions and catagories etc.

How are you expected to manage this without the proper tools?

I have the sql file.

is their not a way to insert bits of the sql file? e.g products_description

How adept are you at sql?
do you have shell access?
do you know cmd line linux commands?

not 2 bad (i do web design for a living)

You were doing good right til this....
There are mysql cmd's that can be run through shell...

Did not ask why you do not have something like phpmyadmin?? This would be much simpler to tutor

the guy who owned the site before had several sites all running on the same sql server, just in different tables, thus if he game me the password etc i could in theory edit someone elses zencart database.

either way i managed to install the sql backup via phpmyadmin on a test site, then install easypopulate, backup the products and then using easy pop install the products on my new site.

long winded way of doing it but its worked.
