2 Questions: tile_back and header size...

Hello. My first post on here.

I was wondering where to go to get some nice color/design to put for my tile_back file, as I wish to change it from the green.

The other is: Does any one know what the dimensions are for the Banner or the Header at the top of the page and perhaps where it is located in the csstylesheet so I can make my site a bit wider on IE.

You will need a graphics program like Photoshop to make a new image for tile_back.gif; you can't just "put a new design on it". You can use any image file as a background for headings etc., but it should be a small file so it will load fast and not waste time.

To change the width of your site, edit /includes/templates/your_template/css/stylesheet.css and set the width of #mainWrapper {}.

You should have a set of custom template folders/files before you start making your own template, so your changes will be safe from being erased by an upgrade to your Zen Cart. Look at the tutorials.

Sorry. I need to ask for help about finding my last post so I can view the replies.

My real need is to ask for help in finding the dimensions of the Header where we put our banner up.

Lastly, without using Photoshop, are there any programs for free where I can put my logo overtop of my banner and load it to where the banner location goes in the Cpanel file manager.

What I have did so far is I got rid of the logo so it won't show the red x, but I still kept my banner (Header_bg). And what I want to do is just slap my logo in between my website name.

I am using the newest version, but I am not using the override method, because I could not understand where to put the file folder in cpanel, so if I am to upgrade I have to erase my whole site, but it won't be so huge that I can just redesign it later anyway.

1. You can make your tile_back.gif image in any drawing program that can save your file in gif format.
Photo Shop is just most common program.
tile_back.gif is 11x32 px size.
When you make one you can name it tile_back.gif and upload to:
includes/templates/classic/images/..
if you don't use some overriding your_template ( which by the way should stay instead "classic".
And that would be all. You don't need to make any other changes.

2. Your banner and logo size.
includes/languages/english/header.php

This are logo definitions.

As for header size:
includes/templates/classic/css/stylesheet.css

There find:
#mainWrapper , and set desired width
and
#logoWrapper, where you can set desired height

Thank you Serbia. I found out that my Banner is 750 by 75 and I am going to make it a bit larger. I have to browse the CSS and find where the SideBox sizes are.

I noticed all changes are in the CSS location, so I am certainly learning!!
