Does Zen cart or one of the add on modules support
dimensional weight shipping via Fedex.. ie.. each product having
an assigned LxWxH and using those values when doing real time look ups to fedex?
Thanks,
Mike

Same question here except for UPS as well as FEDEX.
We got slammed hard this holiday season because so many customer's wanted expedited shipping (UPS Air) on a 2 lb item which needs a large box. We were hit with 9 lb rates because of dimensional weight charges.
We only paid the regular 2 lb rate for USPS because the item just happens to squeeze into the largest Priority Mail box.

I was just reading a couple of unanswered posts dated 2004 asking the same question. I think the answer is no. Which is unfortunate for me since 1/2 of the items I'm offering are D Weight. I'm currently looking for a work around to deal with this
If you want to add dimensional support, conceptually you'll need to:
a) add database fields for all the dimensions
b) add admin UI components to collect and validate that data and read/write the data from/to the database
c) write custom code in each of your active shipping modules to read and send the corresponding data when requesting quotes, and also consider suitable combining of products into shared boxes if appropriate ... all based on the corresponding API for your selected shipping modules.
The Canada Post addon already does this, but of course it's specific to the Canada Post shipping API.
So ... if it's important to you, there's a roadmap for you to follow, as well as a starting base.
As for the future, product-dimension data is collected at the per-product level in the upcoming v2.0 version. (Stay tuned to the News & Announcements area to be notified when the beta release is posted.)
