Default How to set different shipping cost for each product?

I have only a few dozen items in my store, but they are very different sizes and shapes. I would like to simply set the shipping cost for each individual item.
The admin product page only allows weight to be specified, there's no way to simply put the shipping cost there.
I use a flat rate table and try to juggle with the weight, but it would be so much better for me to set the shipping price for each item on the product page and be done with it.
I've searched the modules and this forum, but so far haven't found anything similar.
Please let me know if I missed something, or if there's an easy way to change the script for my purposes.
    Thanks.

You could use the Product Weight to set the shipping cost by using the Per Unit perweightunit shipping module ...

Set the Maximum Weight Shipping to 5000 and the two Tare Rates to 0:0 ...

Then just add the actual shipping cost per Product to the Product Weight ...

Thanks, this will help me too, and btw, the info you mentioned to configure is under configuration/shipping. But you don't say what should be inputted in the actual perweightunit module, especially in field shipping cost per unit.

    Thanks!

Yeh im lost too. Been trying to find a basic guide for the different shipping modules to see which one works best for me. Im also looking to do the same and charge by the weight of the parcel.I did have a problem at the start because if the dimensions are large then the price falls into a different category but ive now resolved that as i can get the actual weight by multiplying the L x W x H divided by 6000.

What i need to do is charge by weight of product but dont know where to enter these details and how to change them.

    cheers

If you set the Per Unit cost to 1 then a Product with a products_weight of 2.5 is $2.50 ... 6.25 would be $6.25 ...

    If you set the Per Unit cost to 1.25 then a Product with a products_weight of 2.5 is $3.125 ($3.13) ... 6.25 would be $7.8125 ($7.81) ...

You could also clone the Per Unit perweightunit shipping module say for Canada and the Rest of the World and charge 1.00 for the US, 1.25 for Canada and 1.50 for the Rest of the World ...
