Default moving site to different URL on same server

I currently have the site set up in a sub-domain and am planning to move it to the root domain ( the old .asp site is being removed).

The site is currently located at www.stamps.postlynx.com and
will be moved to www.postlynx.com .

I would like to verify that the following steps are all that is needed.

    1. Backup and remove all the old site files/folders.
    2. Move the Zen Cart files/folders from the current directory to
    the root directory (httpdocs).
    3. Edit the two configure.php files (admin/includes and includes)
    to reflect the new URL.

Since I am not changing servers and the MySql database is not
changing, I am hopeful that the above steps are all that is required.

If possible, I would like to submit the old configure.php files for
the subdomain and the new files to someone to verify that I have
correctly modified the files. Any takers?

I have attached the old and new files. The old files are named
admin_configure.php and includes_configure.php and the new
files are pl_admin_configure.php and pl_includes.php. They are
in the ZIP file called configs.

I appreciate whatever help someone can give me.

Do not move or delete anything. Simply "copy" your working files to their new dir.
Doing that will effectively give you two working sites using the same database.

Once you have confirmed the new location is working as it should, then delete the old dir/files.

Haven't looked at your config files but not only does the URL need to be correct but also all "paths" used within them.

Rather than sending PMs, it's better to keep questions within your Thread. That way, everyone can share.

    To answer the question you sent;
"Shouldn't all the 'paths' stay relative to whatever the URL is?"

The answer is Yes & No.

If related to a URL then Yes, path should be relative. But not all paths are relative to a URL.

If related to a dir. path then No, it is not relative to the URL but to the dir. structure of your Hosting account.
The path for 'cache' for example, is an excellent one for reference.
