Adding Donation box to my site

During step 2 of checkout, customers can now check a box to add a $1 donation to their order. Easy peasy!

I haven't seen the mod, but if it is built according to standards, it will have a "defines" file where all output text is defined (this allows for multiple languages). Change the wording there and you should be able to get the look you want.

You mentioned having difficulty understanding Zencart basics. Here is a link where you can purchase a really good book which will take you through step by step on setting up ZC and does a pretty good job explaining as it goes: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=16.

Regarding using the Optional Shipping Insurance module mentioned by vatertime it appears (from reading documentation) that it generates the insurance rate based on the value of the order. It's not geared to offer the visitor a choice of how much to pay (or donate).

If you are only trying to set up a donation site and not sell products there are probably better solutions out there than Zencart. Try googling "online donation sites".
