Wamp wamp wamp - can't get wamp to run

just like to report everything is working great with wamp and the new site...thanks to all, especially you, Steven300!

I am having some other technical issue, which may or may not be related to adding wamp.

When i installed Wamp I had to use Firefox as it's browser otherwise I couldn't get it to work. I've always used IE and would like to continue to since I am familiar with it and have all my favorites on it. The problem is, is that it keeps shutting down on me. I can get it back up if I restart my computer, but i can be in the middle of something and it shuts down. My guess is that there is some sort of conflict between Firefox and IE. Anyway to fix this issue?

don't get me wrong, firefox is cool! but if i can have both so i don't have restart all over on my favorites that would be nice

FYI. If anyone is having a similiar issue here is the information i found from a mozilla forum:

go to
- start
- control panel
- add or remove program
- set program access and defaults
- custom (click on the arrow right)
- check Firefox as default browser and enable access to IE
- click ok
This should work. If not; do the same and set IE as default browser and enable Firefox. Than shut down both browsers and check if they both work. If so repeat the procedure and check Firefox as default browser and enable access to IE. This resets it again.

hi all,

a couple of stupid but quick questions....

i took down my test site and i am going to install wamp and setup my test site locally.

wamp is installed and all seems good. i am going to install zen cart. but before i do.

do i need to start all services?
do i need to put the server online?

and what about these errors:

• CURL not compiled into PHP - notify server administrator more info...

do i need to install curl first? if so how?

everything is up and running. for those who are interested in enabling curl and stopping those curl error messages during install, here is how:

1) Close WAMP (if running)
2) Navigate to WAMP\bin\php\(your version of php)\
3) edit php.ini
4) Search for curl, uncomment extension=php_curl.dll
5) Navigate to WAMP\bin\Apache\(your version of apache)\bin\
6) edit php.ini
7) Search for curl, uncomment extension=php_curl.dll
8) Save both
9) Restart WAMP

You could also dump WAMP all together and use XAMP. It's also free and I have used it for my home installed test site for quite a while. No issues at all under Vista Ultimate, run Opera, Firefox, IE multi versions plus Photoshop and Dreamweaver without a glitch while Outlook 2007 runs in the background.

Just my 2 cents....
