Shipping rates issue

Hi,

There must be a way to do so this and have not been able to figure it out.

Currently, I used USPS shipping module which calculates shipping based on weight and region and item is shipped to.

I had to set all items to have a minimum of 6oz (.375lb) in weight otherwise it's not considered 'machinable' and charges a lot more to ship the item.

For example a shirt weighing 3oz and can normally be shipped First Class for about $2. But the way the system is set up is that if I put it at 3oz it's considered non-machinable (i guess assumes it's a tiny package) and charges more than if I just input at 6oz. Hope I'm explaining it correctly.

thus if a customer orders multiple items its no problem, but if order just 1 item they are not getting an accurate estimate for shipping and may deter them from ordering b/c of it.

Anyway to get around this?

0:0

(although I have to admit, I never quite understood what that meant anyway :=)
