    Default Need help with flat rate shipping

    Here's what I'm trying to do
    - $4.99 shipping to Florida
    - $5.99 shipping to the rest of the USA

    Here's what I did to try and accomplish this
    1. Defined two zones
    - Florida local sales tax zone
    - United States zone: The other 49 states + D.C.
    2. Set up the Florida Tax Rate
    3. Configure flat shipping module
    - shipping cost=5.99, zone=United States
    4. Cloned flat shipping module to create flatflorida
    - shipping cost=4.99, zone=Florida
    5. Disabled all other shipping modules

    Tried to check out and got "Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time," using multiple addresses from different states.

    Searched the forums and did the following
    1. Product is Virtual = 0
    2. Always free shipping = 0
    3. Enabled Store Pickup module
    - zone=Florida

    Store pickup works for Florida, getting the "Sorry,..." error otherwise.

    Searched the forums some more
    1. Found and installed the Zones Flat Rate shipping module.

    Store pickup works, getting the "Sorry,..." error otherwise.

    At this point I'm guessing it must be the way I set up the product.
    - Products Status: In Stock
    - Date Available: 2009-01-01
    - Products Manufacturer:
    - Products Name: Cards
    - Product is Free: No
    - Product is Call for Price: No
    - Product Priced by Attributes: No
    - Tax Class: Taxable Goods
    - Products Price (Net): 1.0000
    - Products Price (Gross): 1.06
    - Product is Virtual: No, Shipping Address Required
    - Always Free Shipping: No, Normal Shipping Rules
    - Products Quantity Box Shows: Yes, Show Quantity Box
    - Product Qty Minimum: 1
    - Product Qty Maximum: 0
    - Product Qty Units: 1
    - Product Qty Min/Unit Mix: Yes
    - Products Description: -- description --
    - Products Quantity: 3.40282e+38
    - Products Model: CARD-1
    - Products Shipping Weight: 0.05
    - Sort Order: 0

    Obviously I'm overlooking something. If anyone can help me sort out why I'm not getting flat rate shipping to show for any address it would be greatly appreciated.

    Sounds like you do not have your Zone configured right for the rest of the US ...

    How did you make that one?

    Description: United States
    Number of Zones: 50
    Number of Tax Rates: 0

    - I individually added the other 49 states and the District of Colombia as Sub Zones.

    What is happening is you have the Product Model starting with GIFT and it things this is a GIFT certificate and associating it with Virtual Products ...

    I added Item shipping to test and it was not working ...

    I changed the model to something else and both Item and Shipping for the US works ...

    I changed it back to the original products_model that starts with the word GIFT and it broke again ...

    Change the Product Model to not start with GIFT ... and remove Item Shipping because I kinda sorta forgot to ...

    I will have to look into this further as GIFT alone I did not think was suppose to affect anything unless marked as Virtual as well ... but, alas, it is late and I have had a very long day and forget at the moment all of the nuances to GIFT and the relationship to Gift Certificates and shipping ...

    Amazing thing that Developers Tool Kit ... it says ... don't do that with the products_model as GIFT is definitely a trigger for many thing so it is reserved whether or not the Product is Virtual ...
