how to upload new template files??

I have register a domain in Host Monster and install zen cart 1.38 through Fantastico in Host Monster .
i have download new template..but how to upload through File zilla??

Template files should be structured the same as the zen cart files.

The files need to be transferred to your server thru FTP (Filezilla is one).

i have follow the instructions to upload the templates..but couldn't find the new templates in admin area >tool> template selection..
did i miss something??

I've got this very same problem using Fantastico. I have always just uploaded the ZC files to the directory, and not bothered with Fantastico. This time though I thought I would save a little time and try Fantastico.
The store appears to work fine, but I can't get the install to see any templates that I have uploaded. They are there and in the right place, but I don't get the option to preview or change to them.

Any ideas?

yes, i have upload four different template to my directory...
but none of them can be found in tools> template selection
i tried to upload the template to different directory..but this problem still exist.....

If your templates don't show up in Admin - Tools - Template Selection, they (or at least the template_info.php file) aren't in the right place.

Many templates give you the folders and files in a directory 'tree' which you would upload to the root of your site rather than the templates folder.

Which template did you download?

I am having pretty much the same problem, however my new template folder doesn't even seem to uploading to my remote directory from Dreamweaver. I followed the instructions exactly from the Zen Cart "Handbook" by Goh Koon Hoek and simply copied the classic folder and renamed it. It tells me it is "Putting" on the server, yet when I look at the files on the server it does not seem to exist. Do I have a problem with permissions? I do want it in the /templates directory at the same level as "Classic", correct? Please help.

If you copied the Classic folder and it's contents, yes, it would go under /templates.

The first thing I'd try is an FTP client like Filezilla rather than DW. That should tell you if it's a DW problem, anyway.

If your permissions are the same as when you installed Zencart, that shouldn't be the problem.
