Uk Shipping add-on

I've just added Big Royal Mail, Zen Cart™ Version: v1.3.8,
Version: 2.3.2, Last Updated: Mar 15 2009, Author: Philip Clarke.
It works fine but does anyone know how to use
(order value:shipping cost) instead of (product weight:shipping cost) for the shipping rates.

The Royal Mail add-in uses the Royal Mail's largely weight-based algorithm for calculating shipping costs. If you don't want to calculate your costs that way, why not simply uninstall it and use the built-in table rate approach, which will allow you to price by value.

I started off by doing that but found that I could only have 1 option in the table, but I need 5 different options (1st class, 2nd class, next day, euro, International). is this possible?

You could use Zone Rates for the international orders and clone the table rate files for your UK orders. Another option would be the Advanced Shipper add-in from Ceon, which allows you to do pretty much any combination. That's a commercial mod (so can't really link to it), but it's not expensive and can save hours of frustration!
