Default CRISIS -- ERROR: admin/includes/configure.php file not found.

Please help, im having a crisis!!

My shop is due to go live on monday (30th march) and today suddenly I can't access the admin:

ERROR: admin/includes/configure.php file not found. Suggest running zc_install/index.php?

The file is definitely there as i can see it via both Dreamweaver and my host's file manager. Permissions are set as 644. I have tried to ensure all admin all settings are right and have followed every instruction in this thread 3 times. My configure php files seem to be acurate. I backed up earlier today and after the error message came up I uploaded my backup of the admin folder but it has made no difference. Has anyone got any ideas.

This is an EMERGENCY so any help is greatly appreciated.

Remember that the TWO configure.php files are DIFFERENT. So you can't place the catalog-specific file into the admin-specific location, and vice versa.

What are you using to EDIT your files? A Plain Text editor is always recommended. I would try this instead of using dreamweaver (if indeed that is how you are editing your php files).

Use WINMERGE to compare an original of the configure.php file, with the one you have on the remote server.

Are you SURE the file is correctly named... (no typo's)?

    configure.php, and not...

    - confugure.php
    - config.php
    - dist_configure.php

    Hi schoolboy,
I checked and the filename is definately configure.php.

    - As you suggested, i used winmerge to compare the admin/included/configure.php what is on my server with the admin/included/configure.php from the backup which i made on friday morning before the problems began. They are identicle.

    - Can I confirm with you where the other configure file should be so that i know it is in the correct location? On my store it is www.myurl.com/store/includes/configure.php

    - I then used winmerge to compare this file with the one in the backup, again they are identicle.

    - yesterday i tried uploading all the files from the backup over the current server files which i presumed would take it all back to how it was 2 days ago. All files uploaded (except custom css) But it made no difference.

Are there any other things which might be causing this issue?

    USe WINMERGE again...

... this time, don't compare the files on the SERVER with your BACKUP...

... compare the files on your server with an ORIGINAL (in the ZC original software folders).

You will now see some obvious differences, but make sure that the CODE elements are correct.

    AHHHH, ray of light perhaps?

You have just said that your URL is:

... and in your original posting you say:

    admin/includes/configure.php (can't be found).

    maybe its path is...

    store/admin/includes/configure.php

    Try loggin into admin at:

    www.myurl.com/store/admin/index.php

    and see what happens

Sorry but i don't understand. I can't find configure.php files in the original download. Are they called dist_configure?

Also, i tried going to www.myurl.com/store/admin/index.php and still no access. In fact to access to any admin urls.

In an uninstalled copy of the zc software, they ARE called dist_configure.php .

You can rename them to configure.php

... but did you try my suggestion about the login url... ?

Sorry i'm getting lost in all the panic. You said maybe the path is store/admin/includes/configure.php

Did you mean use this url to log in? or insert it in the configure file somewhere?
I tried to login to admin at
    - http://www.myurl.com/store/admin/index.php
    - http://www.myurl.com/store/admin
neither of which worked, still getting the error.

So sorry if i've misunderstood. I think it's due to the almost nervous breakdown.

I've got to logg-off now as I have something else to do.

If you want to, send me a PM with your site's URL and I'll see if I can assist.

Don't panic... it's likely to be a small issue.

Have you contacted your host to see if they have not perhaps made any changes to the server, etc ?

OMG what a tauma! you'll be be glad to know i've fixed it! Thanks to my amazing webhost tech who sacrificed his saturday morning to help.

To fix it i re-uploaded my entire back-up admin folder via host control panel folder by folder and was able to access admin once more.
