Default GoDaddy Treacle Speed Unbearably Slow.

I'm getting a lot of complaints that my site is just toooooooooooooo slow!! I think a lot of people finding my site are closing it off because it is so slow.... www.limelites.co.uk ......... Would you close this site off due to treacle-like browsing speeds??

I've noticed a recent slow down myself. It's getting to the stage that it's taking almost an hour to prepare one single product due to the length of time it takes to load my admin pages. It's just taken 15 minutes to add just six attributes to my latest product!

Is this a GoDaddy problem? Is there a tool/method to determine exactly where the slow down is caused?

I understand from reading other posts that GoDaddy operate some heavily overloaded shared servers but I can't afford a dedicated hosting package at the moment. So, I am considering a change-over to BlueHost from the list of certified hosts in the header above. Before committing to this unexpected expense, can anyone tell me of their own experience of BlueHost and the BlueHost package that would best suit my needs?

My site is based in the UK, so not sure if I'd be best with a UK host? I do get many foreign customers, so is this a big issue as UK hosts are expensive compared to USA hosts.

My site is very new but it does seem to be getting a lot of hits. Based on the SuperTracker mod it's had around 100,000 hits and it's still very much in it's infancy. I plan on adding around 500 more products and then starting an intensive advertising and promotions campaign which is likely to drive a substantially larger amount of traffic to the site.

    Any advice anyone?

I'd guess it's GoDaddy. I don't see anything on the site that would slow it down that much.

From what I'm reading in these forums, it's almost definitely GoDaddy.

I just wanna be sure though before I layout further expense on another hosting provider.

Do you agree this is a GoDaddy problem?

If so then I'll take steps to change to a faster host...

Looks like a performance problem at the server level ... namely that the server is too busy to keep up with basic operations. A classic GoDaddy overselling practice.

I'm having the same problem with my site. What did you find? This is the answer they gave me: Your site does appear to load a bit slowly but I'm not showing any issues with the server that you are on at this time. . If you try loading any static content on the page (such as images, plain html documents) you will see that these load very quickly so it appears that the issue is not with the server but with the code on some pages. The best solution in most cases is to optimize the code for efficiency to ensure it loads as fast as possible. (If your site uses databases, check those as well. Make sure all database connections are closed at the end of query.) If that is not an option, then you may want to consider purchasing a server for quicker loading times. This is my site: http:// www. wee zees gifts .com I added blank so it won't index.
