UK No County (E.g London) / State

Can any one shine light on this for me ?

As attached screenshot, for the case of London,Cardiff,Manchester etc they do not have counties how can I get around the issue of state/county required status as I do not want to put London etc as the county as it looks on invoices and address labels ?( I still require the state/county box to be a required field!

Just a thought: create an empty field to appear in a drop-down menu and make a note explaining that in case that county does not apply, one should pick that empty field. As I don't have my ZC in front of me now, cannot check if it is possible to save an empty field as an option, but you can try with spaces or other symbols if not..

Second thought:
Setting minimum values to zero could actually help - and either you do that and use the idea I've described previously if you want to have drop-down, or just disable the drop-down and have the field for ppl to provide state themselves.

You can't really have it both ways - either it's mandatory in which case you'll get London London or it's not in which case you rely on customers putting it their county. In any case the Post Office now no longer require or use counties. We mainly use DHL (where counties are mandatory) and we occasionally have to manually enter counties for people who leave out the county on the website (which does wonders for our geography knowledge) but that's a small price compared with the naff business of London London.

Far more irritating is the business of company name ahead of the individual's name on address labels - but that's just betraying my age!

I have done this but how do I get rid of the small red asterix that tells the customer that this is a required field please?

Those are in the language file for the Required Fields ...

They are just text that you should change if you set a field as required/optional ...

I got round the whole London County issue just by adding a note about it next to the County field title in the end. lol
