Odd Problem with Shipping Prices

I am using the USPS API for my shipping on my store. This is my first store and its still in the stages of being set up.

The shipping seems to have been working and calculating fine, until today.

This is what is happening.

I have an item that I have the weight set to 1lb and I calculate shipping from South Carolina to Minnesota 53575 to test it out. That item calculates out at $5.55 cents.

Now if I set that item to weigh .2 lbs it then calculates out to $9.25

now if I change quantity on the .2 lb item from 1 to 2 the shipping then calculates out to $5.55

What in the world is going on?? I am thoroughly confused.

1. Make sure this value is 0:0

oddly priority is only 5.95 even tho parcel post is 9.25

Make sure you have the current version of USPS, following the instructions to Save settings, REMOVE, INSTALL and re-configure:

The problem just ended up being that the USPS charges more for light packages that get sent parcel post.

I got the same figures you got but I add a 1 buck handling to the packages.
