    Default Newb-Zen and addons

    Hi,
New to zen cart (and forum) and have not touched the script at all as yet. Have taken a good look and decided what addons/mods I would like to install. My question is (best to save myself aggro in advance by asking kind experts in prior) is there any problem/issues/conflicts/anything special I should know with instaling:

Latest zen cart with cpanel 1 click install
    ceon_uri_mapping_seo
    google_base_froogle_feeder
    zen_lightbox
    cross_sell__just_another_cross_sell_mod
    google_sitemap
    uk_parcelforce_shipping
    easy_populate_csv
    jscroller_sidebox_package
    google_translate_for_zencart

Would really appriciate anyones advice on this combo.

Thank You Very Much For Your Time.

Best advice I can offer - make sure you keep your original files for backup before making any changes.

Also, with multiple add ons make sure to merge the changes of any files that are in two or more of your adds ons.

Also, it's always a good idea to load contributions one at a time and test in between. Else, when things go wrong, you won't know which one caused the problem!

I'm not familiar with any of the add ons you're planning on installing but I'd like to suggest that, in addition to the advice already given, you create either a test site in a sub-directory, or a local installation on your computer, and test them first.

I agree with all the other advice you've received, althouh I've never installed Zen Cart to run on my PC.

Personally, I prefer to install Zen Cart manaually (using the latest download available) as opposed to installing through CPanel or Fantastico.

    Thanks.
Difficult to know what to do first.
    Install zen clearly but then
    add template and tweak
    add a few test products
    add mods?

Not sure which way round is best to start as I said- am unfamiliar with zen.

Do mods often conflict? Any one use that particular 'set' I want to use with/without issues?
    Thanks

As for conflicts, it depends on the mods. I recommend you read the "read me" files that come with the mods and see what they say about the files used.

I think your plan is a sound one. If you can do as Steven300 suggested, you can try them out without disturbing your "live" site.

I don't use any of the mods mentioned in the set, so I can't comment directly.
