Are there any addons to upload product file in excel format

Just to make the process more easiler and it is relatively easier to change over excel file about product information. Does anyone work over this field? If so, I would love to participate in this project!

I just used that v1.2.5.5 version a few days ago to upload about 500 products but, it had to be in tab delimited text file. Just saved my excel file as tab delimited text. Had no issues with the upload.
