I don't like other product pictures appearing below the product description on the product description pages and can't seem to figure out how to stop them from showing. Sometimes they are random images selected from the image folder that aren't even of current products.

This might help.
admin panel/ catalog/ product types/ product - general
- click the edit layout button on the far right side
- Show Product Additional Images
- set to 0
