    Default Define Pages Editor errors

So my client can more easily find things, I wanted to rename Page 2 to "news". I changed it in the filenames.php file, renamed the file in the english/ folder as well as in the html_includes folder.

Saving it in plain text version gave a 500 error. So I named them all back, but it's still giving the 500 error. I even reuploaded the original files, still no go.

Can anyone help me fix this?

    Thanks

In general code is not intelligent - so back tracing what you have done has to return it to default or you have not actually restored all things....
As you found out renaming in 2-3 places is not the cure - a define page as this is requires 8 changes in several files to effect a complete change plus a sql change...

Only fix is to insure that all things are returned to default

Ok, I did manage to add the pages I needed, in all the places and they seem to be working EXCEPT for one odd issue, and this may be why I kept getting a 500 error before.

I am editing a page, and if I use the word "from" in either plain text or HTML, it throws a 500 error when I try to save it. I went word by word until I narrowed it down to this word. FROM. Very bizarre. The sentance is :view the photos from last year's event". If I change it to "view the photos OF last year's event". it's just fine.

That is the WEIRDEST error I've ever seen, why would it freak on the word From?

    I'm still having an issue.

When I edit one of my new pages, in the URL, it states:

    /define_pages_editor.php?define_it=7&action=new_page

So it's thinking it's a new page - and I don't know why. I also have no idea where it's saving it to.

I couldn't figure out why my pages weren't showing - I didn't add them to the onfiguration page where you set the status. That is not in the new pages directions, can someone point me to how to add it there?

    Thanks

Are you creating new ones or renaming old ones?

Have you had a look at this contribution:

    or this one:

Both deal with adding new define pages and getting them to display in the sidebox. I've used them both.

I've got my new pages working, however, the issue still remains:

Every time I use the word FROM, either in HTMLArea or plain text, it throws an ISE 500 error when I save the page!
