Newbie: How can I add HTML editing to "Products Description"?

I have Zen 1.3.8

I'm having troule formatting my "product Description" within my Admin pages. Currently, it shows no HTML editing features and is only a text field. So, even though I have spaces in between paragraphs, my product description on the LIVE site just runs on into one long paragraph (no spaces or formatting).

How can this be resolved?

Also, I would like to add adittional fields like the standard "product shipping Weight" ... User defined fields which I can select (for example: "Product Dimensions", "Materials Used" and other)

RE: entering html into product description....

Categories / Products you'll see a box entitled text editor.... just ensure that it's set to 'Plain Text' Then you can paste html into product description and it'll come up in html on the site.

There's a global setting for this in admin to ensure it always remains 'plain text' (html)

Never mind the spammer... If you set the textarea editor to HTMLArea or whatever you have available, you should be able to do WYSIWYG editing. I prefer to enter my own HTML and have never used other than plaintext.

You should be able to enter standard HTML tags in the product description. I do it all the time.

or where we edit new product page html or new layout.

If you know HTML, you can edit the description field when creating/editing a product and insert the HTML code you desire. If you don't know how to write HTML, you can enable the HTMLArea editor as described above.

To change the overall product page layout, edit /includes/templates/your_template/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php.
If it is the "new products" page you want, edit /includes/modules/your_template/new_products.php.
