Best mod to Stop Bailed Carts? FEC or COWOA ??

I was wondering if anyone could give me advice as to which mod is better... COWOA or FEC.

Ideally, I'd like to use both but they are not compatible with each other. I took a look at the COWOA install files and I think I'd be biting off more than I could chew trying to integrate them with my FEC single page checkout which I use just now....

I've been getting a lot of bailed carts at the login page, so I'm just wondering if that's because people generally can't be bothered creating an account......

If I can't have both mods then what do you think's better... FEC (single page checkout) or COWOA (checkout without an account)?

The latest version includes Easy Sign-up and Login preintegrated which also has the option of COWOA.

My vote would be for COWOA.

I only have a few days data with it, but conversions seem way up and so far, every customer has chosen to COWOA except a small number of phone orders.

In fact, I advert it loudly on the homepage in the url in my sig.

One more. It wasn't that tough to get it to work. That site has lots of mods that touch many of the same files that COWOA does. But the changes COWOA makes are pretty small and were easy to figure out how to merge in using WinMerge.

I think WinMerge is still free too.

These are 2 separate things, COWOA is for account creation and FEC is for checkout. Perhaps you meant Easy Sign Up and Login (ESL) and COWOA?

Anyway, we use all 3, FEC, ESL and COWOA. I would highly recommend it. We get the majority of sales coming through COWOA and I think you will find that it really improves your conversions.

I embedded the COWOA form into the create account/log in page to reduce the click count. Check it out at **********, add something to your cart and go to checkout to see it in action. This is a live site so please do not create an account or go through checkout unless you want to buy something.

Yes, they are two different modules for two different things. As I said above, FEC is now a combination of:

- one page checkout (FEC)
- single login/registration page (ESL)
- checkout without account (COWOA)

if a customer chooses to check out without account and then returns to shop another day, are they forced to create an account because the cart retains the email address? or can a customer keep coming back and checkout without an account every time if they so choose?

No, they can return and use the same email again.

Customers who have created a real account cant use the same email to COWOA.

BTW, COWOA is included in the FEC package. Nice :)

The cart does not retain their email for account creation purposes. The way around that is the script inserts a . at the end of the email address for the account name, so the next time they are going through COWOA and have to enter their email address it isn't recognized since it doesn't have a . at the end.

So yes, they can use the same email address over and over to COWOA on separate occasions. AND, your cart still can send emails to them correctly for order updates, newsletters, etc. because the correct email adddress without a . at the end is recorded for the email address in the customer database table. A clever little trick on the Author's part!

Unfortunately, people are not being respectful of my request and are creating accounts and even checking out just to see the functionality I described. I can see that they are coming to my website from the link in this thread in my user tracking. Moderator, please remove the link from my earlier post since I cannot edit it myself.
