Default Moving from test folder to live folder on web server?

Howdy. I just installed a fresh install of zencart (latest version) on my web server in a test folder. There are no other versions of zencart on this server. Once I get the store configured how I want it, how difficult is it to move everything over from the test folder to a live folder?

Is it as simple as copying files from the test folder to the live folder or will I need to do anything else?

Right now, the test files are at http://www.[myserver].com/zencart and when all is said and done, I'd like to move them to http://www.[myserver].com/ and remove/overwrite anything in the live folder.

Just want to know what I'm up against before I start the process of building the store the way I want it. Thanks for your time!

    the process is simple.

move all your files and folders to live ( root ) and then you need to modify both Configure.php files to reflect new paths and removing any entry for your test folder in those two files that zencart needs .. thats all

Awesome. Thank you so much. I've just started customizing my store, so it'll be a while before I need to move it, but that's encouraging to know. :)

Just another quick question then... does the same apply if I install extra modules like the UPS shipping calculator and whatnot?

it dosn't matter what module you have installed. during file / folder move the only thing that changes is your paths.

before move , it would be recommended to make a file and folder Backup , so in case ..

ps: once you moved , you may want to use this little tool

    http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...products_id=82
this will fix you cache key if needed to be fixed .

I am moving my folder as well. Can anyone provide me exactly which lines in the configure.php files I need to change?

I have moved my old files to my root and changed both configure.php files to reflect the new domain and database for my live folder. But nothing is coming up. Was I supposed to install zencart onto the live folder before transfering the old files from my test site?

    Should not have to....

All files uploaded and drop the DB in.... and edit the configure.php files.
You have url to look at?
