Google Chrome Browser admin login problem

I dont know if anyone has reported it before but 3 hours ago i discovered that if I use chrome browser its not login at admin area

Just some info... Although Chrome is its own project it is built from the Fire Fox platform.

So..... IF you cannot login admin in Chrome, likely you cannot in FF either and a couple others as well.

This is likely to be a session or cookie issue IF you have not edited your admin/login.php or related stylesheets.

Check your paths in configuration/sessions.... also might check your configure.php files for path errors.

I am using the latest version of ZenCart and have similar issues.

My issue is that I cannot login to a customer account, it just loops back to the home page in the 'logged out' state.

This only happens in google chrome, not IE or firefox.


the only files i have edited are the stylesheet.css and the tpl_header.php

I'm curious as to what is causing this.

Cannot log into admin area with Chrome browser from 2 different systems and 2 different OS's.

Firefox

- Windows XP - success

Wrong Chrome has nothing to do with firefox

It is built on the Webkit platform, the same as Apples Safari browser and Comodos dragon browser

Try using Safari, if you have it and see if it works

also what version of Chrome are you using

I am using 7.0.517.41 and zencart 1.3.9g

PS If you resolve the issue please post back what you did.

Just to clarify, the site renders fine in Chrome - just not the admin page. It certainly does seem to be a Chrome issue but I have no idea where to look. I also have other sites that Chrome is unable to render.

I realise that, i am able to login to admin using chrome no problems, and have never had an issue with chrome and zencart admin.

If it was a Chrome issue there should be a lot more people having it, i am sure some other chrome users will chime in here at some stage

I am also having problems using Zen Cart with webkit based browsers. Zen Cart seems to function fine for me with FireFox and Camino, but I am unable to login to either the admin panel or the user site with Safari 5.0.2 / Google Chrome 7.0.517.44 (the most recent builds). I am also unable to login to the store front using the iPad's Safari mobile on IOS 4, but it seems to work on an iPad that is running the older version of Safari mobile (the one packaged with IOS 3). I also tested out the Mac version of Opera 10.63 and it also failed to allow me to login to the store front.

Every time I try to login to the storefront or the admin panel with any of these browsers, it gives me this error message: "There was a security error when trying to login."

I've searched the forums pretty thoroughly and this is the closest thing that I can find to the problem I'm having. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a fix that anyone knows of?

Chrome is built on Webkit, Firefox is built on Gekko. Two different engines.

Chrome and Safari might share some bugs as they both use Webkit but Chrome and Firefox don't really share any codebase.

No problem using Chromium 7.0.5 on my Linux box.
