Default MAMP - MySQL access denied

    Hello everyone,

I have downloaded MAMP, downloaded the Zen Cart files, changed the name and put them in the MAMP htdocs file.
I have changed the Apache route to 80.
I can view my Zen Cart admin page and front end page.
But in MAMP I get the following message:

"Error: Could not connect to MySQL server!"

In PHPAdmin it looks like this:

"phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server."

Have struggled with this for quite some time now. Anyone who can help?

Default Re: MAMP - MySQL access denied

    Hello,

I am trying to create a new database with the mysqladmin command in MAMP. I am in the terminal and I have navigated to

    /Applications/MAMP/bin/mysql4/bin

    and then I hit

    sudo ./mysqladmin create databasename

    and I get this message

error: 'Access denied for user: 'xxxxxxx@localhost' (Using password: NO)'

Is there something I can do to fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

You'll need to supply the correct MySQL username and password. Look up the correct syntax for command line parameters for mysqladmin.
