PayPal wpp and Analytics ecommerce not working

We have a pretty extensively customized 1.8.3 cart with PayPal wpp properly configured and Google Checkout.

Problem we have is registering Ecommerce conversions in Analytics. Google Checkout conversions register without any problem but the wpp won't. The Goals in Analytics are working as intended.

Any ideas?

Just to add a note, Ecommerce has never worked with PayPal payments but i thought the wpp would be different as the transaction is happening basically the same way as any payment gateway (right?) at the server side.

Just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone has encountered the same problem and if they were able to solve it.
