After some more searching I see that site was apparently that of the previous, sadly departed, developer. Unfortunately, I don't see any continuation of that sitename.
Zen Cart 1.5.6c modified to support Japanese language (postage module support work in progress). Upgraded incrementally each version from initial 1.5.5d.

    Hi all,,

Having some trouble using SitemapXML . It only seems to generate links for 5000 products and now to has a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error when trying to generate a new sitemap.xml. I have seen other Zencart sites that are using SitemapXML but have over 5000 products , how do I activate this feature ?

    Thanks
    Hash

Solved it myself . To list more than 5000 products make sure you have sitemapxml_cats2man.php selected !

Ive recently paid someone to do some work on my website, so not sure if its me, them or the fact Ive messed with the settings that is causing this problem.

    Can you help.

Oh just seen Simple SEO URL's

The CEON module is better and works with sitemap.xml

Has worked ok for ages with the sitemap containing the seo friendly urls but only just started doing this.

I noticed after I had the work done on my website that my robots.txt file had been cleared out too.

So not sure what has changed to cause the sitemap not to contain the seo friendly urls that my website is using.

    Your site's canonical links, e.g.
    Code:
    <link rel="canonical" href="https://www.tidytoys.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;products_id=877" />
are not following the SEO URLs' rules either. I believe that the Ultimate SEO URLs (https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=132) generates SSU-compatible URLs, creates a correct canonical link and works under zc156/zc157.

If you 'go that way', I'll suggest uninstalling the SSU module (noting any configuration settings and backing up the database first) and then installing USU.

Oops! I just noticed that your site's running zc154, which isn't supported by USU.

Thank you but I dont have the knowledge to do all this work.

As the sitemap was ok until fairly recently I was just hoping it would be a setting Id got wrong or soething like this.

Simple SEO urls has always worked for me.

As @lat9 pointed out your site's canonical links are not following the SEO URLs' rules. In fact there is no evidence that Simple SEO urls is working at all on your site, so it's no wonder that the sitemap urls are incorrect.

I didn't check your site when you first posted so you may have made a change since then, but it MAY be something as simple as turning back on the Simple SEO in admin - I assume there's a switch there (especially as you've had someone else touching things), I'm not familiar with this mod so can't really direct you.
