p.s its 45mb, yet another site i have the same file is 47mb, so why is google saying my 45mb is too large yet 47mb is fine :S
    Admin/configuration/sitemap
You can compress your sitemap that should do the trick.

    1. This sitemap xml mod definitely works (now 1.3.9g). However, say I do not wish to include priority, date of last mod, or change frequency. How might I remove/exclude them? Or at least change the priority?

    2. I recently took out the cPath mod as the "G" cart doesn't use cPath for canonical url. Search Engines still picking up cPath in index. Is this really a problem? CPath is included when one clicks to the product from the category anyway. I'd actually prefer the cPath mod, as I can more readily determine what the dynamic url is when looking at the sitemap.

    Thanks!

or just one of them? I've heard we should submit both variations to google.
Just an FYI - you should be re-writing all URLs to either use www. or not use www. As mentioned, this can (and should be) done in GoogleWebmasterTools but you should also modify your .htaccess to automatically re-write all URLS to either include or not include. This helps prevent duplicate content, and helps to prevent your pagerank from being split between 2 identical pages.

Is version 2.1 still the most up-to-date version?

    application error Re: SitemapXML v.2

I found out that when you submid the XML sitemap, the mod generates a fault.

The XML file that is created, the URLSET ( </urlset> ) is not present (missing) at the end.
So robots will nog recognise this XML file

So people, don't forget to write it yourself.

    Yes it is

1: The sitemapproducts.xml has not changed (it is CMOD 777)
You need to make changes in admin/configuration/sitemap
Use Existing Files true-----false you should set this to false

2: Google webmaster tool is not adding my latest update...i get a red cross
You just said in site map has not change.
Use Existing Files true-----false you should set this to false

3: I don't have a compressed xml file, how to create one?
    admin/configuration/sitemap
Compress XML File: true or false----you should set this to true if you want a compress sitemap.

You just need to read the read me text that come with this module to get it to work like it should. A lot of people install add on's without reading the read me text.

    **nods in agreement**

There are two things I always do (and recommend) when installing add-ons.

    1. Read the readme files and any other instructions. Even IF I KNOW how to install modules I NEVER assume that alone is enough to correctly install it.. I read the readme to make sure I know all the possible "gotchas"
    2. Read the entire support thread (yes even the really LONG ones..) This way I know what the issues are, possible solutions, etc.. This helps me understand "where the bodies are buried"

I don't answer support questions via PM. Post add-on support questions in the support thread. The question & the answer will benefit others with similar issues.

Default Re: SitemapXML v.2 _Root folder?

Hi, I read somewhere that your sitemap xml had to be in your root folder?

If this is true how do I get it there?

My store is at the second level and after installing the map it now appears at

    http://www.mydomain.co.uk/store/inde...age=sitemapxml

When I installed the map I copied the sitemapcategories.xml, sitemapezpages.xml, sitemapindex.xml, sitemapproducts.xml, sitemapreviews.xml files to my root directory so I kind of expected it to be there...

Alternatively can I not just leave it where it is and submit the above path to google, yahoo etc?

    Thanks
    Tony

Please read at least some of the thread to see what problems others have had and what was suggested to them to fix the problem before posting. I bet you might just find your answer.
