    Default Paypal Express Payments appear ok in Zencart, but no record of transaction in Paypal

    I am using zencart version 1.3.8a (fresh install)

    The Paypal express buttons seem to work perfectly, and the transactions appear in Zencart, but there is no sign of any transaction in Paypal.

    The Paypal express functionality did work a couple of weeks ago. Things that have changed since then: I removed the first Paypal button from the "Your Shopping Cart Contents" (I have since replaced that page, and all other pages that had minor text modifications from backup to before the problem with payments began - but that didn't fix the problem). We changed the company address in the Paypal Account (Paypal says that would make no difference. They looked at the account and tell me nothing is wrong). I have recreated the paypal credentials and uninstalled and reinstalled the paypal module, but that didn't help either.

    Thanks for help with this! Let me know if I can provide any other info that would help.

    I ran the ipncheck and curltest but they looked ok...

    Fast way to determine what might be at issue is to install a test basic install and use for only testing paypal.

    Assuming this works - diff the file sets

    Thanks. I did a fresh basic install on the same server for a different site and everything worked like a charm. Any suggestions on the best waya to proceed from here?

    That would be awesome. I have it set to "live" under live or sandbox. Is there anywhere else where it could be set to test mode?

    I enabled website payments standard and that works o.k. Really weird that express stopped working.

    Enabled Paypal express and it works now! Go figure. I don't know what caused the problem the first time, but one thing I did was remove the first paypal express button you come to on the "Your shopping cart contents" page. Do I dare try to remove it again? Has anyone else done this successfully? I think it is less confusing to just have the express button on the "Welcome, Please login" page. Also - now that I have a working button, I will search for how to backup not only the files, but the admin settings. Any guidance appreciated. Thanks much.

    You should check with PayPal first before you do that ... because removing that button is contrary to their Terms of Service.
