Zone shipping - changing calculation method

Hi there

Hoping someone can help - feel I've done quite well building my first ever cart and getting to the current stage it's at. My problem is with the Zone Rates module which I have set to calculate by Item. I've had a re-think and now want to convert my shipping to Zone Rate via weight. All other shipping modules are turned off.

I tried doing this for my zone 1 country - changed the weight for a single product in Admin - Catalog so it had a weight of 1, went to the shipping module and changed the Zone Rate module to calculate by "Weight" instead of "Item", making it use 1:2.00,2:4.00 (i.e a weight of 1 shipping is $2, weight of 2 is $4). Then tested it by attempting to make a purchase and the message "The shipping rate cannot be determined at this time" appears in the Estimator and shipping shows as 0 in the checkout.

I'm wondering if I need to remove the Zone Rate module, then re-install it when changing from one calculation method to another?? Or maybe all my products need to have a weight entered rather than the one "test item" I changed??

Might be a redundant question But are you testing this with an account that has and address in the zone you are setting up?

Yes I tested it with a user account with an address in the zone 1 country.

Hi there

I believe I have this working now! In case this may help someone else - I removed the zone shipping rate and re-installed it setting the calculation method to weight. When i tested it, it still didn't work, so I had a look in Shipping/Packaging (as Ajeh pointed out in the previous post - thanks!!) and edited some settings.

I removed the Postal Code (not really used in my country anyway) and ignored the yellow warning sign at the top of the screen telling me I should have one and also changed the "Package Tare small to med" and "Larger Packages" settings to 0:0. Now works!!
