Hey everyone,

Following the recommendation of one of the users on here I installed the VAT-mod for European companies:

It works really well and I'm really impressed with it, though I have a slight hiccup that I'm hoping someone could maybe help me with.

The shop I'm building is to sell wholesale from company to company from the UK to the rest of the EU. We need the shop to function so the customers in the EU are charged VAT initially then once the VAT details can be confirmed for a company in the EU, they are then not charged for their VAT on future orders.

(Just as a side note, I used the function within the mod to confirm the company vat details but it didn't work when I tried it so I disabled it)

I then found the Customer Tax Exempt mod:

So I was thinking that I could install that alongside the first mod to have the best of both worlds. One would check the vat for the EU based countries and I would have their VAT number. The other would give the option to make particular customers tax exempt.

I downloaded the Tax Exempt mod and I've compared the files to see what's different to the Vat-mod. The functions_taxes.php files are similar but have some minor and some major differences in syntax. I'm not good enough at code though to know what I need from each to keep them both working.

Does anyone know if these files would be in any way compatible to be 'combined' as it were. Or does anyone have any ideas of how I could make particular customers in the EU tax exempt and keep the majority of customers charged normally?

I would prefer to keep the VAT-mod running as that runs great as it is. I'm basically just looking to add the option of a tax exemption to single customers.

I hope this makes sense, thanks very much!
