What exactly do you mean by "that was another failure"?

That's a message coming back from the email server which has chosen to reject the "from" email address submitted with the attempted outgoing email message.

It indicates that the email server WAS connected to successfully.

But ... it didn't like the sender address. That is often a result of a few factors:
    - mail looks like it's an attempt at relaying or spamming
    - the email address isn't valid according to the mailserver to which you connected
    - the email address has been flagged in the mailserver's software

    I would suggest two things:
    a) play with the "Email must send as known sender" setting in your Zen Cart admin email settings (mentioned in the FAQ document I posted a link to earlier)
    b) play with settings in your gmail account to ensure that the address you're submitting is truly accepted by them, and that the server you're hosting on is allowed to send mail thru your gmail services.

And, failing that, talk to gmail support about the "why" behind their server rejecting your outgoing email.

Thats very understandable and I do know where your coming from. What I ment by failure was I tried to install it and when I unremmed the includes directory in PHP and restarted IIS none of my sites would load. So I just remmed it back out and made sure my sites relaoaded. I thought the error was being thrown back from gmail as well. I made sure that POP and IMAP are both enabled on the account. I have tried making the email must send as known sender but that didnt change anything. The url for the store is actually boostline.com so I'm guessing that could be one of the problems. Maybe to just alleviate this is to run a small email server locally and have zencart send through that. This will be easier I'm guessing on the long run.

Why not try using an email address that matches the domain name ?

Well thats what I'd like to now do and I figure if I just install a mail server on the server machine and have it host the email for the boostline domain it can make this a much simpler

That url resolves to a parked page not a ZenCart - more confused now
There are no MX records for it either while turbochargerstore.com does have MX records

Actually, it should be 465, not 467.
It just worked for me on a clean new v1.3.8a install, by following the instructions in the wiki article I mentioned earlier: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...s#Google_Gmail
That article also points to the Google help document which confirms those settings: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...y?answer=13287

In fact, I've tried it with a basic gmail account, as well as a Google Apps Standard account. I'm sure a Google Apps Premium account will therefore also work similarly.

Ok let me give it a try again but sorry the URL is actually boostlineturbo.com I shorthanded it not realizing silly me. When I switch it to 465 now I'm getting could not connect to SMTP host. Then I tried port 587 as suggested in the page you linked and I got the same error saying invalid from address.

Looks like the MX for boostlineturbo.com is set to GD and not to Gmail

Unless you get the right person at GD, you might receive incorrect smtp server settings
