If other parts of your installation are sending mail to the same address you are trying here, then you probably have a "duffy" file somewhere. Use the debug tools to see what may be the cause, and also look at your server's error log.

in the wiki its got
1) Admin and Store both use the same infrastructure.
3) Wherever an email is sent, it is initiated via zen_mail() which is in the /includes/functions/functions_email.php. This builds the email object according to all your settings in Admin > Config > Email options
Am i being thick?... does that mean that i shouldn't be able to use any email facilities from my zc website, be it the 'contact us' form or the Admin > Tools > Send Email

My hosting company has said its not the server but a duff file
and i have just tried another zc store than im involved with and that too has the same problem (and thats with a different hosting firm and they have confirmed its not the server but something with my ZC)

What does your server log report after you have tried to perform the contact_us function?
(You say the same happens on another site... did you use the same core zencart files to install on both sites? If so, when you downloaded and unzipped the ZC program, you may have corrupted a file (or files). Get another zipped copy of the software, unpack it and use WINMERGE to compare the two sets of program files (the new one you just unzipped, and the one you used originally)
If you have made no changes to the core code on your local drive, then winmerge will quickly highlight files that are different, so making changes is then easy.)

i dont have direct access to the server logs on the site which is the main cause for worry...
this is all i can get hold of...
"You have no error log entries at present."
however on the other site which im not too worried about yet as its just in testing and not live to the public the following is returned
"malformed header from script."
not much help to you i know.. lol

suggests a file (php) problem...
Do the winmerge exercise. It's the quickest way to see what may be wrong.

last time i mentioned who my host was i was told off for advertising or something and the post was edited...
lol.. but its supanames and the other is unitedhosting
im starting to get proper ############ off with this now...
do you fancy sending me the file because i have tried it from 2 different downloads of ZC and FA is happening

i have an update...
i have installed the excellent email history mod..
gone to my contact page, sent a message...
looked at the email history... and it shows up in the history that a message was sent from the 'contact us' form and using the feature i can read what i sent
but no email has arrived in my box...
i have tried with 4 diff email addresses, but the emails just dont get delivered to my inbox...
what do you think?

Where did you get the "Excellent Email History" mod... I don't see it in the free addons
