Amin Panel Configs functioning

I upgraded to 1.3.8a from 1.3.7 this week. I did site tweeks within the admin panel configs as well as stlye tweeks and all was working.

Today I put new products on the site, without incident, but noticed an extra link to subcategories appearing on product listing (in addition to breadcrumbs).

When I tried to toggle Include Product Listing Subcategories Image in Product Listing config, the screen simply returns to Admin Home when clicking update. I ended up trying other configs within admin and they too don't update, returning instead to the admin home.

The site works as I received and order and payment in the midst of this.

Changes I've made since I successfully changed configs:

I went through the bug fixes list yesterday. There were changes in the following admin files, which I just double checked: admin/incl/function/functions_prices.php,
admin/incl/functions/general.php
admin/orders.php
admin/inlc/graphs/banner_monthly.php

I also changed the non admin files as in the bugs fixes list.

When I upgraded I kept my admin/includes/config.php and includes/config.php from 1.3.7

My test site on localhost remains in tact - I made the all changes there first before uploading. The admin config in the test site is also not functioning.

Also forgot so list that I put in the patch files admin/includes/functions/html_output.php and includes/functions/html_output.php yesterday. I just double checked the files on WinMerge and I did put each in the right place.

I am on Dreamhost and I just read on another forum that someone else was having same problem. Could this be a server issue?
