Special Text on main page vanishes

I have some special text at the bottom of my main page, that I did as in this thread: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...0&postcount=13

The text shows up fine when I have Categories - show on main page = 0, but when I turn the show on main page to =1, the categories show up, but my special text disappears.

If I set the Categories - show on main page back to 0, my text reappears.

I tried reducing the number of new items to a single row while categories were turned on - to make sure there was room for the special text in case the page size wasn't fluid, but to same avail.

So somehow Categoies ON = Special Text OFF!

Solved.

I previously added the code for 'special_text' for the bottom of my main page to tpl_index_default.php (as in the forum link in my original post above). But when you enable Catetogies - show on main page, this isn't the file that is called up. Rather, tpl_index_categories.php is called up instead.

I realized this by comparing the source code on my live site that had categories on main page enabled, vs my test site where I did not have them enabled.

Solution - I cut and copied the same code bit for special text from the index_default file to the index_categories file and saved the changed file as includes/templates/my custom/templates/tpl_index_categories.php
