Windows Live Messenger addon version 1.0

The purpose of this module is to enable you to provide customer support/ sales advice/ chat using Windows messenger with customers that are browsing your shop without the need for them to have a windows live account.

This module installs a sidebox that contains a button and an little person icon that indicates when you are online. The customer can click on the sidebox and chat with you anonymously or with an account without the need for them to be running any messenger software.

The set up is 5 simple steps.
1) create a hotmail/ msn/ live account
2) turn on the web chat function
3) edit a file to add your id to the sidebox icon
4) upload the side box
5) turn on the side box

Microsoft basically provide a javascript web page that can talk to messenger. Your visitors don't need an account and can sign in anonymously as long as they fill out a password displayed as an image. Your messenger account is also kept anonymous too so spam is reduced to a minimum.

I cannot get the green icon to appear in my sidebox. I have done what you said in the install file about the email address which appears at the "Create html": [email protected]

I paste this into /includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/messenger_live.php

It still does not appear

I also have unchecked the tick at tools and also in http://settings.messenger.live.com/a...reateHtml.aspx it is on and saved

I see that version 101a is for zencart 139x and version 1 is for 138. The problem is, version 1 doesnt seem to work as there is no icon in the sidebox(i'm running zencart 138a) and when I try the version 101a my site locks up, which tells me it's not compatible.

Did anyone ever get a version for 138 running correctly?
