Change content on main page

Hi,

I have searched through the forum for what I am doing wrong but however I try I cannot change the content on the main page of one of the free templates. The fact that I cannot find a post dealing with this specific issue makes me think it is a very easy and obvious task (so I feel a bit dumb...no, more than a bit).

Anyway, I have been able to make all the changes I have tried so far; like changing product categories and adding new products and images...etc and even changing some of the text on the main page (i.e. "Congratulations, You have successfully etc...)

But I cannot seem to change the Main page content.
When I search for the text in the development tool (Have you got yours yet?) I get it showing in 2 spots:
C:/xampp/htdocs/zen/includes/languages/english/html_includes/classic/define_main_page.php

and

C:/xampp/htdocs/zen/includes/languages/english/html_includes/define_main_page.php

but if i change the text there and save, it doesnt change it on the main page.

Heres my directory structure:
c:\xampp\htdocs\zen\includes\templates\r2r\

r2r being the name I gave the directory to house my custom template. Off r2r there is, among others, a directory named 'template'.

Well, I have copied the define_main_page.php file into r2r.
I have created r2r directories (and copied that file to them) like this: C:\xampp\htdocs\zen\includes\languages\english\html_includes\r2r

I have tried changing the text in that file all over the place and I can't seem to get it right.

Can somebody please help me work this out.

(I thought the development tool might find the text in the define_main_page.php files I have copied to my custom directory but nope)

Try this:

go to your admin panel.

tools - define pages editor

select the main page and that will allow you to edit the text that appears on the main page

Thanks, but I should have mentioned I tried that.

(tried it before and after I copied the file into multiple directories)

It doesnt change.

Any other suggestions?

What I thought was text was an image.
