Version: 1.3.8a
My storefront was unsecure for a brief period of time (I know, not good) but I have since added an SSL cert and dedicated IP to my hosting account. The store seems to be running just fine now after the updates EXCEPT FOR downloadable products. Now whenever someone clicks on a download link, they get the following error message...
Not Found
The requested URL /Store/pub/.bmotluvnnxjjylz/CUSTOMFILE.zip was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks in advance!!

What happens if you set ENABLE_SSL to 'false' again?
Is your SSL served from the same folder on the same server? Or is it managed via separate folders and/or servers? Who are you hosted with?
Does the file named in the error message exist on the server or not?
Which version of PHP?
What addons are installed?
etc
etc.

Thank you so much for responding DrByte, but now I must admit my embarrassing discovery...
I completely overlooked the DIR_FS_CATALOG setting in configure.php. It was slightly different due to the updates to my hosting account and I just didn't make the connection right away.
So I updated this setting and everything now seems A-OK. Sorry to have wasted anyone's time.

Glad you found the root of the problem. Sometimes looking at it with fresh eyes can expose things better.
