Can I copy all products under one category to another? in bulk?

i hate clicking on Copy one by one for each product... thakes for ever... any other way to apply in bulk?

Are you trying to "Copy as Linked Products" all Products from one Category to another Category ... or are you trying to "Move" all Products from one Category to another?

I would like to know the same thing. But mostly how to MOVE items from 1 catagory to another in bulk. If there were a way to COPY in bulk one could copy the contents of the source to the target then delete or rename the source catagory.

To move ALL Products from one Category to another is done in 3 steps ...

NOTE: Backup your database before using this ...

Go to the Category you want to Move the Products from and click on Copy for one of the Products then click on the Multiple Categories Link Manager button ...

In the bottom of the page you will see:

Global Category Link Changes and Master Category ID Reset
Copy ALL Products in a Category as LINKED Products to another Category ...
Example: Using 8 and 22 would Link ALL Products in Category 8 to Category 22
Select All Products in Category: Link to Category:
Remove ALL Products in a Category that are LINKED Products to another Category ...

Example: Using 8 and 22 would Unlink ALL Products in Category 8 from Category 22
Select All Products in Category: Remove from being Linked to Category:
Reset ALL Products in the selected Category to use the selected Category as the new Master Categories ID ...

Example: Resetting Category 22 would set ALL Products in Category 22 to use Category 22 as the Master Category ID
Reset the Master Categories ID for All Products in Category:

First set the Products from the Old Category to the New Category as Linked Products:

Copy ALL Products in a Category as LINKED Products to another Category ...
Example: Using 8 and 22 would Link ALL Products in Category 8 to Category 22
Select All Products in Category: Link to Category:

Next, you need to Reset the Master Categories ID on these Products to the New Categories ID ...

Reset ALL Products in the selected Category to use the selected Category as the new Master Categories ID ...
Example: Resetting Category 22 would set ALL Products in Category 22 to use Category 22 as the Master Category ID
Reset the Master Categories ID for All Products in Category:

Next, you need to remove the Products from being Linked to the Old

Category:
Remove ALL Products in a Category that are LINKED Products to another Category ...
Example: Using 8 and 22 would Unlink ALL Products in Category 8 from Category 22
Select All Products in Category: Remove from being Linked to Category:

Now, go to the NEW Category and all of the Products will have been moved ...

NOTE: if the NEW Category is not the Master Categories ID for all the Products in this New Category then you will need to do some clean up to fix those ...

say I have all of my products in one category. Call it All Products.

I am creating new categories that I want to separate those products into.

Is there a way to copy certain products from All Products to their respective categories in bulk?

Is there a "link" field in the database that I can maybe pick out product ID's and change via phpmyadmin?
