link problem "please visit this product's webpage" link trouble

Version: Zen Cart 1.3.8a Patch: 1:: Fresh install
    Addon/customized: Template
    linux with godaddy
    URL: www.platinumringjewelry.com
I searched the forum and FAQs, found 31 posts related to this topic but none held the answer for me.

The link on the products page that takes them to the "product's webpage" is not functioning properly, it currently does this:
    http://platinumringjewelry.com/index...%3Fiid%3D69634

However, it didn't have a problem before moving to new hosting. I have reloaded the information and no change.

Also, it doesn't malfunction in the admin when previewing the product before updating.

Any and all help greatly appreciated.
    Lisa

Default Forgot to include some information

Apologies, I forgot to add an important piece of information.

One of the posts I read that contained similar information to my problem had the user look for a redirect folder. In that example the user had an empty redirect file and the problem was resolved for him and no other information was provided.

I have checked the redirect file and compared it to another and all of the information is there and appears to me (a complete novice) to be complete and accurate.

For some reason on the site I am working on, the product's webpage link is putting my own site back into the URL in front of the URL to the manufacturers actual product page.

Hope that I have been more clear.

How did you add the URL on the Product when editing it?

    Example:
NOTE: there isn't any: http:// used on the URL for the Product ...

NOTE: when adding/editing a manufacturer, that DOES use the: http://

    Example:
    Manufacturers URL:
    http://www.microsoft.com

    Hi Linda,

Yes, I checked that before posting. Both fields were entered as required and the problem still presents itself. I had another problem yesterday and was searching the forums for the answer. In doing so I came across something that might be causing all of the problems. As I mentioned in the first post, the trouble started after moving to new hosting. It appears that somewhere in the saving/downloading then uploading again process, the code became double spaced. I followed instructions in another post and looked in specific files to remove extra space before or after the code, it did fix some of the smaller problems when the extra spaces were present.

With the problem yesterday, I couldn't change the store from showcase to showcase with prices. I then discovered I couldn't change the customer shopping settings either. A poster with a similar situation was directed to the admin/includes/functions/html_output.php file. Although I didn't have the exact problem the other poster had, I did decide to copy a clean, single spaced version of that file and it fixed both of those problems. I had hoped that it might be the same for the products webpage issue and repeated the process in the redirects file. I am afraid that it didn't work.

I am beginning to think it has something to do with double spacing in a file, but which file(s) controls the "view this product's webpage" information? Unless I am totally off base and there is another possibility. At this point I am willing to try anything :)

Thanks in advance for your time,
    Lisa

Thank you for your continued assistance. I re-entered the information for the products webpage on one item for you to see. I had just removed these because of the problem with the links. I hope the following is what you wanted when you asked for a click for click.

link to the website home page:

    http://platinumringjewelry.com/index...ain_page=index

    link to the product category:

    http://platinumringjewelry.com/index...=index&cPath=1

    link to the product:

    http://platinumringjewelry.com/index...roducts_id=102

link that comes up in the address bar when clicking the "Please visit this products webpage" link in the product description:

    http://platinumringjewelry.com/index...%26iid%3D69634

when clicking this last link the page remains grey.

Edit to add: for some reason the forums program is shortening all of the links.

This is the link exactly as entered into the products page via the admin:
    http://www.stuller.com/products/prod...ails.aspx?grp= j&gid= 29979&cid= 0&iid= 69634

I then click the preview button, and during preview I can click the "webpage" link and it works perfectly. However, once I have clicked update and try to access it through the live site's link on the products page, it does this:
    http://platinumringjewelry.com/index.php?main_page= redirect&action= url&goto= h t t p : / / w w w .stuller.com % 2Fproducts% 2Fproductdetails.aspx% 3Fgrp% 3Dj% 26gid% 3D29979% 26cid% 3D0% 26iid% 3D69634[/url]

Putting my site's url in front, adding all of the extra garbage and not redirecting to the manufacturer's site.

*I have added spaces after all = signs and % signs in both links so the complete information appears on the forums

Could you post, from the server, without your username and password, your /includes/configure.php file?

The only time I have seen that mess up when correctly entered is due to a bad configure.php file, bad SEO or an add-on ...

// ie: /path/to/your/webspace/public_html/zen/cache -- leave no trailing slash
    define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'none');
    define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home/content/n/e/m/nemasaem2/html/platinum/cache');

    ?>

There is actually an extra emptly line under the ?> on the server. I tried to delete this extra space as described in another post, and then save the file with the change and got an error that the file could not be saved.
