I have searched the forum for hours now and still cant find a solution to my problem.

I keep getting the following message on the Shipping Method page of an order:
Not Available At This Time
Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time.

I have tried everything and nothing works.

I am only running the store in Ireland with the zone set for Irish Tax rates, I will only be shipping in Ireland and I have everything set correctly.

The store is useless if I cant get it working.
I don't understand why it is so complacated to set up.

I have been at it for hours now and still stuck on the same page.

Please Help with some basic instructions (1 do this 2 do this) and so on.

I am ready to remove Zen Cart and go to something a lot less complacated if I can't get this sorted.

Can you post a link to your site and post your zone setting please.

Also have you any other shipping modules enabled?

I think thats it.

I have removed all the zones and only have the Ireland Zone as I don't intend on selling outside Ireland. If I do I will add the zones as I go along.

and let us know which modules are enabled.

FREE SHIPPING - Freeshipper - SORT ORDER: 0(green)

OK well you need to enable at least one other module.

Freeshipping only applies to products that you have designated as free shipping. So for most products Zen Cart is not finding a shipping module that it can use to ship the product (I am guessing that not all your products are free shipping). I can't advise what works best for Ireland, I am afraid, but as a start I would enable 'Other Options' which means customers will collect from you. This might not be what you want but it should get rid of the error and then you can work out which modules are best for you in your own time.

I have enabled both
Free Shipping Options and FREE SHIPPING

And it worked
The only thing is, It is now not calculating the VAT!!!!

My Plan was to have
zone 1 as free shipping (this would be all Ireland)
zone 2 set rate for Islands around Ireland (e5.00) charge

And work down from there.

Tax gets confusing. And I am no expert.

Your products can display including or excluding tax. Also you can add it to the order total. (admin - modules - order total) So, if you're not careful it adds it twice.

I think that you only need one tax rate at the moment which is Irish sales tax or VAT or whatever. So everything is taxed at that rate.

The UK would not be included in the Islands list.

I am still trying to understand Zones.

I imagine zones would be like putting 3 rings on a map

Say for example:
1 to 20 miles = green = Free shipping
21 to 55 miles = orange = 5 euro shipping
55 to 600 miles = red = we dont ship there

Would I be thinking in the right direction if I was looking at Zones this way.

I think that you need to implement the Zones Shipping Module (admin-modules-shipping) and then define the Zones.

I really don't know if you are going to be able to easily distinguish between Ireland and the Islands very easily but that is both a lack of geographic knowledge and of how to program the zones.

I think you may need to add a 'new' country but getting the module to recognise this from the customers address may be tricky.

I'll have a think about it but it might warrant another new thread.
