    Default WinMerge questions about upgrading

    It's easy to fix that:
    a) clear the browser's "temporary files"
    b) re-download the patch zip file
    c) unzip
    d) apply the patch as if it was the first time you were doing it.
There's only a few files in it to deal with, so will only take a couple minutes.
Where can I find the latest version of the security patch? I have downloaded and installed the patch about 5 times and it still tells me in Admin that I should download the security patch. My Zen version is 1.3.8 no 'a' on the end of it. I have changed the name of the amin folder.

The "New Version Available" message will ONLY disappear if you're using v1.3.8a and have applied the patch.
If you're using v1.3.8 (not "a") or v1.3.7.1 or older, the message will continue to appear.

Thank you for your reply. Can you give an approximate release date for version 2? I am not good at doing this upgrade stuff. If version 2 will be out within twelve months, I'd rather wait and do an upgrad then. If version 2 will not be out for longer than twelve months I will try to upgrade sooner.

I downloaded version v1.3.8a and comapred the files with WinMerge but I found it confusing because it said lots of files were different, then when I doubled clicked on the file it said the files were identical. Other files were only different because of the carrige return. Does the carriage retun placement make a difference? Some text files were different, I can change these easy enough. It's the files that tell me they are different, then when I double click to open and compare the files it says they are the same, these confuse me as I'm not sure what to do.

You can usually ignore differences in line-endings. There's a setting in WinMerge to turn off the line-ending check.
There are also some tips here: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7330 for tweaking settings in WinMerge to have it ignore things that may flag a difference that you prefer to ignore.
