Default Contact Pull-Down: Big Boo-Boo in my entries!

Developed a problem not getting emails from ZC 1.3.7.

    All patches installed as recommended.

Got a success result page after sending, but emails never arrived.

Turns out I put an entry in the pull-down addresses so "Select From Below" appeared at the top of the pull-down.

I entered this as "Select From Below:," then entered the addresses as indicated after that, so I had something like this:

    Select From Below:, Admin<[email protected]>, Sales<[email protected]>

Turns out that the "Select From Below:," was killing the email destinations. After lots of looking around, I tried changing it, so there were empty brackets following it, as such:

    Select From Below:<>, Admin<[email protected]>, Sales<[email protected]>

This fixed it. I thought it was fine before, because I got the success response from the Contact Us page. Boy, was that (I) wrong! I should have checked my result more closely, by looking in the In Box - Duh!

May seem like a no-brainer to you, but just in case, I thought I'd admit my mistake for others to potentially learn from.

    Cheers,
    chrx

    Thanks for sharing.

I see one caveat with your approach though: if the customer doesn't actually choose something else from the list (ie: leaves it as "Select From Below"), they may end up thinking things were fine and nobody will get any message at all. I don't recommend leaving a blank email address.

    Excellent Point!

I'll just duplicate my "Sales" address there, to seal it up tight. Thank you for the input.
