SagePay bug: Invalid Basket error: 3021

Hey guys this is the second time we've encountered this error. But this time its flagged up an error.

Invalid Cart 3021

It would seem that zencart doesn't either like orders over the value of £1000 or there is a limit on the max number of items somone can have in a basket.

any ideas guys?

You're going to need to give a lot more information.

You said "But this time its flagged up an error". How? Where did it "flag up an error"? You said "this time" ... which begs the questin: What did it do *last* time?

You titled your post "Invalid Basket error: 3021" and then later called it "Invalid Cart 3021". Which is it? Is there more text to the error?

With your sparse post I have no idea what you're referring to, where the message is appearing, when it's occurring, what can be done to trigger it.

And what led you to the idea of order value problems over £1000 ? or max number of items in a basket?

What versions of PHP and MySQL are you using?
And, what addons do you have installed?
Did the problem occur in relation to a certain payment module? or to the functionality of an addon? If so, which one?

Seems like there's a LOT more information to be shared than what you've posted.

Error Message was : Invalid Cart error 3021 (no more text)

It happened when the customer tried to checkout and clicked confirm after typing in their payement details.

The error appeared at the top of the screen where the validation message comes back if its been declined by bank etc. However the text wasn't in the same size font so i don't think its the payement module.

We're using Sagepay (and the only cap from these guys is £100,000 so that seemingly isn't the issue.

Thinking back now, we tried to process the initial order of about £1600 and we checked VSP and there was no indication of the transaction going through. We dropped the order total down to £1500 and it then gave us an error declined by bank.

Which makes me think that issue is not money related but in fact number of items.

PHP Version 4.3.9
MySQL 4.1.22

Most of our orders are betweeen £10-£200 pounds but twice now we've had orders over £1000, with alot of items these two things being the only constants but as stated above i don't think its the cost i believe it to be the number of items.

What we've had to do is break the orders down into several orders and this seems to work.

The previous order didnt come back with an error message it would just allow us to confirm payement details and then refresh the same page.

There are no other modules that should be affecting these purchases.

From the error msg. you have described, it sounds like the problem is probably with Sagepay. You should contact them as it seems they have some limitations which you should find out about.

Hello Rob,

yes i did contact sagepay when the first incident of this occured, and they told us we have a limit of £100,000 which places these orders well within our limit. I do still feel its a limitation on the amount of products a single person can order, It may possible have somthing to do with the number of records a single order can hold within MySQL ill have a look at the database structure in a bit and update.

Which Sagepay module are you using?

You haven't given any details about how many items are in the cart/basket when this sort of problem is manifesting. I don't see how the cart/basket could be the problem unless there's something broken by an addon.

You should not only ask Sagepay if they have a limit on the number of Products per Order but also if the same Person / Credit Cart can be used more than once within a 24 hr. period.

Also ask if this is their error msg: Invalid Cart error 3021
