Attribute Image Size

I am using version 1.3.8

I need to upload images fror color attributes. I want these to be display only.
1. do these images need to be uploaded in the correct size for display?
2. I want to display 1 or 2 images per row so that the images can be bigger Currently when I upload there are 5 in each row.

I know there are settings for this somewhere but I cant figure it out. any help would be appreciated

Attribute images display as the size that they actually are ...

Edit the Option Name and you will see:
Attribute Images per Row:

I changed it to twoi rows and uploaded larger imges. How do I keep them from overlapping?

I am not good at the design work ... perhaps someone else could jump in here and lend a hand ...
