HELP in changing main store page file....

Ver. 1.3.8a - OK, I have gotten partial changes accomplished modifying the php files in the "/includes/languages/english" directory. Do I then delete those files and put the modified files in the "/includes/languages/custom" folder that I create as a sub dir under languages? Do I leave both sets of files there?

You leave both files there. If you have a custom file, zencart will the customised file. Otherwise it will read the information from the default file. If you want to reverse the changes you can delete your custom files and everthing is back to the default installation.

Still having problems. I have followed all advice found throughout the FAQ and related posts in these boards. Would it help to post the code from the modified files and/or my directory schema?

I click on TOOLS/Templates to change to the CUStOM template setting but none shows up. I have not made any other templates, only modified individual php files in the ENGLISH directory and saved the modified files into a CUSTOM folder at the same level. Some changes seem to work, others do not.

The way the override system works, you have to create a custom template, select it in admin, place folders using the name of that template in the proper places, and place your modified files in those folders.

It's the template_info.php file mentioned in the first tutorial that tells admin you have another template.

OK, added new file structure under INCLUDES/TEMPLATES and copied relevant files into their dirs. I copied and then modified template_info.php as shown below and reuploaded it. I am getting the following error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/content/g/e/l/geltech/html/store/includes/templates/custom/template_info.php on line 1

What program did you use to edit that file?

Not recommended. Tends to make a mess of the line endings. A good, free alternative is Notepad++
