Default Problem removing customer last name from reviews using override

    Hi,

I am fairly new to Zen. I am using a new install of Zen 1.3.8a.

I have been tweaking some of pages in the cart using the override system. Everything has been going smoothly up until now. I want to remove the customers last name from the product reviews. I have searched the forums and found this solution mentioned HERE.

This method works fine if I modify the file in includes/modules/pages/product_reviews_write/header_php.php . However, if I try to implement the override system by adding and modifying the file in includes/modules/MY_TEMPLATE/pages/product_reviews_write/header_php.php, it doesn't work. It still displays the last name.

In particular, the highlighted part is what I have edited from line 42 of header_php.php .

    Code:
    $customer_query = "SELECT customers_firstname, customers_lastname, customers_email_address
Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

pages folder does not have a classic folder inside - only the areas that have a classic folder by default are overridable

    kobra,

Thanks for clearing that up. I had read that in the tutorials, and there is a classic folder in includes/modules. That is where my confusion kicked in. I was trying to apply the override too deep into the directory. Now I understand.

    Thanks for your help.

As a rule, one can add in the comments of any file edited, their name or another distinguishing string....I add "edited by kobra"
When an upgrade is due - you can search all files for "name" that you used and have a list of all files changed
